Business Development Committee
Agribusiness, Existing Industry, Small Business, Technology, and Tourism
Agribusiness - Support and recognize the agricultural economy of Heard County
- Sponsor and coordinate the Farm-City Breakfast
- Promote agribusiness financing through local lenders, and government programs
- Coordinate an Agribusiness Roundtable with all stakeholders, i.e. Farm Bureau & Cattlemen’s Assoc.
- Promote establishment of innovative farming programs
Existing Industry –Support retention and expansion of existing industry in the county
- Facilitate use of BREP survey to enhance communication and collaboration
Small Business – Support existing and prospective small business development and expansion in Heard County
- Coordinate seminars for the benefit of local businesses and entrepreneurs utilizing local/regional resources
- Monitor state and federal legislation impacting local small business and inform members through website
- Facilitate the targeting/development of diverse small business and entrepreneurism in the community through local/regional resources
- Sponsor the DRUGS DON’T WORK Program
- Host Spring Luncheon and sponsor the Small Business of the Year
Technology – Promote technological education and use of technology in the county and maximize the Chamber’s utilization of technological advances
- Monitor telecommunications options available to Heard County and its cities and inform membership
- Facilitate initiatives supporting local business, public sector and residential telecommunications enhancements
- Coordinate Technology Fair for students and public
- Participate in regional and state technology initiatives
- Continue updates and maintenance of website
Tourism – Support the development of a tourism program as an additional economic engine for the county
- Support tourism assessment of county
- Promote tourism and develop a targeted marketing strategy
- Facilitate collaboration of all tourism stakeholders in county
